My 1997 Ducati 900SS I purchased for $1500 is finally to a point where I trust it so on a whim I rode from Wichita to Coronado Heights Castle to see how it would do.

Neat! We stopped by Coronado Heights on our drive from Austin to South Dakota back in 2018. Great view from up there, and I took way too many pictures of that castle thing.

Isn’t it kinda weird how quickly the landscape changes? Absolute flatness to rolling hills in the blink of an eye

It’s part of what’s called the Dakota Formation , but I wasn’t a geology major for long enough to remember how to read geologic maps. That was also back in 1985, so I’m sure I’ve forgotten just about everything I might have learned. But yes, the sudden high ground is cool, and affords a great view. We had stayed in Lin dsborg the night before to take in the Scandinavian vibe (my wife is second generation American, her grandparents were from Denmark and Sweden). Had a damn fine meal there, too. Nice place.
